Malin is a visual artist and focuses on painting and mixed media drawing.

Born in Düsseldorf, Germany, she discovered her passion for drawing quite early on, during her school years, which led to her completing an apprenticeship in architectural drafting. She went on to obtain a master’s degree in architecture (Dipl.-Ing. Architektur) from BUGH Wuppertal, Germany.

Having worked as an architect for 10 years in Düsseldorf and Hamburg, Germany, she has a strong bias towards graphic forms and shapes. After moving to Singapore in 2010 she dedicated her time and focus to painting, primarily working with oil colours and progressively discovering the medium and its advantages. From 2012 onwards she was under mentorship of local artist Ernest Chan.

Captivated by plays of colours, structures and shapes, she has created a diverse body of work which reflects different stages of her life. Recently, she added a series of mixed media works on wood depicting shophouses spotted in her immediate neighbourhood. Currently she is working on her first collage series on paper.

Malin has participated in several exhibitions in Singapore, Poland and Germany and co-curated group exhibitions in Singapore. She won an Excellence Award for the ‘4th Enter into Art 2018’ International Installations in Germany.

Her works are in private collections in Singapore, France and Germany.
